Sustainable Tourism
We support communities in developing socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable tourism that preserves local culture, strengthens livelihoods, and contributes to long-term community resilience.
Our long-term outcome is inclusive, responsible, and environmentally conscious tourism in partner communities, providing sustainable livelihoods while safeguarding cultural heritage and natural resources.
Nature-based solutions (NbS)
Nature-based solutions (NbS) are how Cebu Pacific Foundation helps communities build resilience through the natural systems around them. Forests, watersheds, mangroves, and coastal ecosystems protect livelihoods and biodiversity, reduce climate risk, support local economies, and strengthen the places that communities and visitors depend on.
For the Foundation, nature-based solutions sit across both pillars: community resilience and sustainable tourism. They allow one investment to deliver multiple returns: stronger ecosystems, safer communities, more climate-aware livelihoods, and destinations better prepared for future shocks.
We work with partner communities, local governments, environmental experts, and development partners to connect the resources, knowledge, and support that make resilience last.
Our Projects
The RISE Capiz Coast: Building stronger resilient communities along the Capiz coast.
The Resilience & Inclusive Support for Empowerment of Capiz Coastal Communities Project (RISE Capiz Coast Project) is Cebu Pacific Foundation’s first major project to help coastal communities in Roxas City and neighboring municipalities of Ivisan and Panay in Capiz Province build a more resilient and sustainable future.
The project recognizes that community resilience is closely connected to the health of the places people call home. By working with communities to restore degraded coastal ecosystems, the project aims to strengthen natural protection from storms, support fisheries and livelihoods, create opportunities for sustainable tourism, and help local communities become better prepared for environmental and economic challenges.
The project will begin with a 100-hectare pilot, with a long-term goal of restoring 500 hectares of coastal ecosystems. Mangrove restoration is an important part of this work, but the ambition goes beyond planting trees. It is about strengthening the relationship between people, nature, and local economies so communities can thrive over the long term.
Cebu Pacific Foundation connects communities with local governments, civil society organizations, conservation experts, development partners, and other institutions that can bring the knowledge, resources, and support needed to turn local priorities into lasting solutions.
Implemented in partnership with Futures Inc. and the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), RISE Roxas Coast puts community participation and stewardship at the center of the initiative.
